Mike Tyson: A Documentary On The Badest Man on the Planet
Here, we will know about a man who became a heavyweight champion from street fighter kid.
Childhood
The Story began on June 30, 1966, in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York. His mother Lorna Mae was a single mother because his biological father left them. Mike was very pitchy from his childhood. He likes pigeons a lot. His voice was a little stuttering that’s why other children used to bully him for that. If anyone were him at that moment, he/she normally cried for it.
But Mike didn’t do that. He directly went toward those children and punched them in the face. Mike got arrested 38 times before age 14. In that time, a former boxer named Bobby Stewart found potential on him. He trained Mike for a couple of months and let him introduced Cus D’amato, who was an American Boxing trainer and manager. Cus had fame by training heavyweight champions Floyd Patterson & Jose Torres. Cus also noticed the potentiality of a champion on Tyson.
Career
His mother died when his age was only 16. Mike always says that his mother was never happy for him; they weren’t so close at all. But these incidents couldn’t affect his boxing career. After his mother’s leave, Cus D’amato became his official guardian and manager and with his proper guidance and hardship, Mike Tyson won the 1981 – 1982 Junior Olympics. He also broke the record of doing the fastest knockout in only 8 seconds.
Fans began to call her ‘Kid Dynamite’ and ‘Iron Mike’. Tyson started his professional boxing career at the age of 18 and began his race for winning. Mike fought 15 bouts in his first year and won all of them. He won his first 19 matches by knockout. He played his title match against Trevor Berbick in November 1986. On that match, he defeated Trevor Berbick by technical knockout and won The Heavyweight Championship at the age of 20 years and 4 months which was a record-breaker.
After the sunset
Mike was convicted of rape and went to prison for 6 years. Though he got released in 3 years. He adopted Islam in the time of prison life. in 1995 he came back to the boxing ring and restarted his career. He again won the heavyweight championship with hard training and deep focus. Everything was going so well.
But he did another mistake. Once he has to bout against Evander Holyfield. This time he seemed weaker and he thought he won’t defeat Evander Holyfield. Because of his depression, he did something abnormal that never been happened before. He did bite on Holyfield’s ear.
It was very shocking and unexpected in the history of sports. He was restricted from boxing for one year. After a year of restriction, he again got back to the boxing ground. But this time he didn’t do any remarkable achievement.
Another career
In 2005, he announced his retirement from boxing and started working in the film industry. He played role in many successful movies like A Fallen Champ, The Hangover, One Night In Vegas, The Man Inside, The Cookout 2, Black and White, etc.
